August 13 is International Left Handers Day! There are plenty of famous Lefties, but we’re going to share some of our favorites with a focus on pop culture.

As this X-Men baddie is animated, I’m unclear what his actual handedness is. But the word “sinister” literally means “left-handed” in Latin, so he’s kind of the Leftie mascot, when you think about it.

The Pretty Woman herself is a leftie, so if you’ve been discriminating against left-handed folks all this time, I have one thing to say: Big mistake. Huge.

We come to this place to honor the roughly 10% of the population who favor their left hands. Like Nic.

I’m about to blow your mind: not only is Sarah Jessica Parker left-handed…but so is Carrie Bradshaw. What a wild coincidence! Has anyone seen those two in the same room?
Here’s another genuinely fascinating tidbit: Parker’s husband, Ferris Bueller himself Matthew Broderick, is ALSO left-handed.
5. Tina Fey
The “30 Rock” and “Saturday Night Live” star is a Leftie. Did she pick the double-L name of Liz Lemon as a reference to this? Probably not! But I just put it on the internet, which must mean it’s true.
4. LeBron James
Sports? I don’t know her. But this LeBron fellow seems mighty popular! He is apparently ambidextrous, which means he can dunk with BOTH hands. I do that with my cookies and milk. Just like LeBron!

When Lady Gaga yells at you to “put your f**king hands up!” — as she does basically every 30 seconds during a live performance — she is specifically ordering you to put up your LEFT hand. As that’s the only hand that matters.

The Queen of All Media is left-handed! You might say being left handed is one of her favorite things. Maybe she’ll write a book about it, and then make a whole club to discuss it. You get to favor your left hand! YOU get to favor your left hand! Etc.

Has there ever been a more visible left-hander icon? “The Simpsons” neighbor Ned Flanders is so passionate about Lefties that he opened his own shop for left-handers, the Leftorium. He supports you, for he loves you. Understands you, is one of you. How could we not love him back? Okily dokily!
