Since 1966, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series to more than 30 TV series. Some have won the honor once, some up to four times. While the bar has been significantly raised on what constitutes top-tier television, all of the shows to receive the Best Drama Series honor deserve consideration.
