TELEVISION

Thursday 2/6: Invincible (Prime Video; Animated, Super Hero)

Season 3 of this Image Comics adaptation begins, with our teen hero reeling from drama both existential (his Superman-like father was actually sent to conquer Earth) and interpersonal (he broke up with his girlfriend). Catch the first three episodes this week.


Thursday 2/6: Celebrity Bear Hunt (Netflix; Reality Competition, Celebrity)

In this British reality competition, survivalist Bear Grylls will attempt to hunt down 12 celebrities in the Costa Rican jungle. By “celebrities” I mean famous British people, or at least fame-adjacent British people, most notably Spice Girl Mel B and Kola Bokinni from Ted Lasso.

Thursday 2/6: Apple Cider Vinegar (Netflix; Drama)

Kaitlyn Dever (Emmy and Golden Globe nominee for Dopesick) stars in this based-on-a-true-story drama about a woman who creates a natural medicine empire on the back of a big lie, and the additional women she uses and abuses on her way up.

Sunday 2/9: Super Bowl LIX (Fox/Tubi 6:30pm; Sports)

In a redux of the 2023 Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will square off again for the NFL’s greatest honor. This year’s Halftime Show will feature hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar, hot off five Grammy wins for his Drake diss track “Not Like Us.”

Wednesday 2/5: Becoming Led Zeppelin (IMAX; Music, Documentary)

American Epic Filmmaker Bernard MacMahon helms this officially sanctioned documentary on the birth of British psychedelic rock giants Led Zeppelin, including archival and concert footage never before seen. Note that the film will go wide on February 14.


Wednesday 2/5: Kinda Pregnant (Netflix; Romantic Comedy)

Amy Schumer plays a woman who starts wearing a fake pregnancy belly to fit in with her actually pregnant friends, but whose life becomes complicated when she meets the man of her dreams. With Will Forte and Damon Wayans Jr.

Thursday 2/6: Heart Eyes (Wide; Horror)

A Valentine’s Day horror film about a killer who murders happy couples each February 14, starring Olivia Holt, Mason Gooding, Devon Sawa, and Jordana Brewster.

Friday 2/7: Love Hurts (Wide; Action, Comedy)

Oscar winners Ke Huay Quan (Everything Everywhere All At Once) and Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) star in this film about a mild-mannered realtor who is secretly a former mafia hitman, and the woman he helped escape from criminals years prior.


GAMES

Tuesday 2/4: Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (Action RPG; PC, PS5, Xbox S|X)

This sequel to the 2018 original is set in the real world, in the 15th Century, in what would now be the Czech Republic. Play as returning protagonist Henry, the son of a blacksmith fighting against the Holy Roman Empire.

Wednesday 2/5: Rift of the NecroDancer (Steam; Rhythm, Fantasy)

Play as Cadence, who must combat monsters pouring into her world via a rift, in various rhythm-based music challenges.

Thursday 2/6: Ambulance Life: Paramedic Simulator (PC, PS5, Xbox S|X; Simulator)
